My life now feels a million miles away from my life growing up, but looking back I always knew this was what I wanted. From the early days of fashion school and building my Instagram following, being my own boss as a teenager and moving to Manchester on my own, I found a confidence in myself that I hope is helpful for other young girls to read about. On one level, I still can’t quite believe it. How did this happen? My dreams actually came true – it’s just mad!

I think it’s about finding that balance. It’s important to be happy where you are, to appreciate each stage you’re at and trust the process. But never lose that drive to keep chasing your dreams. That’s something I always tell people.

Looking back, my life unfolded really quickly – and I feel like everything happened for a reason. By that I mean every job, every small thing, had something to teach me. It’s funny how these things work. So, if you have a tough day, if something bad happens, remember that that’s not the end of the story.

You will make mistakes in the process – I certainly have – and that’s OK. At the same time, I know it sounds cliché, but I literally wouldn’t change anything that’s happened. You have to make mistakes so that, later on in life, you won’t repeat them, and you can share the lessons you’ve learned, so that others won’t make the same ones either.

The one last thing I want to say – and these are words I so firmly believe and live by – is that you only have one life, so you have to live it. If you take anything away from my story, please make it that! If you wake up one day and think, I want to do this, go and try it. Even if it’s just a little thing, even if you just want to learn a new hobby, do it!

One of my biggest fears is that I’ll look back later in life and think, I wish I tried that. I want to give everything my best shot so that one day, when I’m old, I can finally tell my grandkids, ‘I tried everything that I wanted to do. I made mistakes – but I don’t have any regrets.’

I know how lucky I am to be able to share ‘My Story’ with you. Especially as it’s a story I’m still writing. In fact, this is only the first chapter. I can’t wait to see what else there is to come!
